Appointment, Due Date and Baby Room, oh my!

So, we had an appointment on Monday (Bennett’s heart rate was 134 and I’ve gained a total of 23 pounds so far). Our doctor thinks that I could go into labor any time between May 14 and May 23… May 23 was our “set” due date, and then at 20 weeks they gave us the date of May 14. My good friend Kelly told me that they don’t typically “change” a due date, but again at my next appointment they confirmed May 14. However, when I was completing my FMLA paperwork for work, I saw that the doctor had written May 23, so we asked them about it Monday. They said that they weren’t sure and saw in their notes where, on two occasions, they said May 14, but would stick to May 23, LOL… I am so new to this, I don’t know!! So I may be a week behind what I thought. ?? Either way, it doesn’t make a huge difference. My only concern is going into labor on the date that my sis-in-law has her c-section scheduled: May 28. But we will deal with that as it comes, I suppose! SO, going BACK to May 23 as the due date (I know, you “told me so”, Kelly ;-)), I have 37 days until my due date!! I am setting a NEW countdown!! :-) And I am as happy as can be! We have our next appointment in just over a week and they have scheduled an ultrasound!! I am excited to see how much our boy has grown.

I am not sure how many of you know, but Quinn and I will be living at my mom’s for the summer!! Our lease is up in June, I am off for the summer, and Quinn’s work needs lots of support up north over the summer months because they get really busy with all the resorts, etc. Last weekend, we went home and got our new room and Bennett’s room ready! The area of the house we’ll be staying in hasn’t been used in 11 years, so LOTS of cleaning was required! ;-) Thanks to my mom, mom-in-law and my cleaning efforts and the strong boys in the family who helped move heavy things out of the area, it will be a very comfortable, livable place for the summer… and right next to the lake! We have a sliding glass door that opens up to the canal (pictures to come) and Quinn and I are hoping to build a deck there this summer - we’ll see if my dad lets us ;-). Anyway, here are some pictures of what we have set up so far:

At home in Lansing, we have the glider, changing area and bassinet set up as well, along with all the stuff we will need for the first month. All we really have left to do is put the hospital bag together and get our car seat inspected to ensure it’s installed correctly. Time is flying!!!
